Special   Items

Puppets
Puppets can be used once you've taken the Puppetry specialty. Puppets are applied for like any other item in the Item section. When applying for a puppet, please include a detail description of the puppet's appearance (including dimensions), compartments for weapons/etc, and any and all special features of the puppet. You do NOT apply for weapons/other items used by the puppet when applying for the puppet itself, these should be applied for separately. The puppet application is shown below. Please note that you need the Puppetry specialty, as well as any Focuses the puppet may have, trained to at least the level of the puppet in order to use it.

The stats of a puppet are derived from the level of the puppet as well as the level of the user's Puppetry specialty. Puppets have Speed, Strength, Endurance, and Stealth equal to the level of the puppet plus the level of the puppeteer's Puppetry specialty divided by 4. So a level 500 puppet used by a puppeteer with level 300 puppetry has stats of level 200. However puppets are also limited by their owner's own abilities, meaning that none of a puppet's stats can go beyond its owner's corresponding stat without effects (a puppet cannot have level 500 Speed if its owner only has level 400 Speed. In this case, the puppet would have level 400 Speed). Like normal stats, these can be buffed by items and abilities.

Finally, puppets require a certain number of fingers to control. The number of fingers it takes to control a puppet is based on the level of the puppeteer's Puppetry specialty:
1-100: 10 fingers
101-200: 9 fingers
201-300: 8 fingers
301-400: 7 fingers
401-500: 6 fingers
501-600: 5 fingers
601-700: 4 fingers
701-800: 3 fingers
801-900: 2 fingers
901-1000: 1 fingers

Human Puppets
Those with Mastery of Puppetry and Medical may create their very own Human Puppets from diseased shinobi. To do so you must have the corpse of a shinobi (must be a player character, not an NPC) as well as level 1000 Medical and Puppetry. Human puppets must be applied for as level 3000 puppets using the standard puppet template, and must post a link to the thread where you acquired the body. Human puppets can "learn" and use any jutsu that the shinobi they are made from originally had (these can be looked up in the Ninja Info Card of the diseased shinobi). These jutsu still require training and cost the normal chakra cost to use (chakra is taken from the puppeteer's chakra pool).

Body Seals
Body seals can be applied for by anyone with the Sealing specialty and once bought are added to your inventory. These seals are NOT active on your shinobi by default. They must be placed on someone in a thread and, once placed, are removed from your inventory and added to the Ninja Info Card of whoever they are placed on. In order to place a seal, all that is needed is physical contact in some way (a touch of the palm, a bite, etc) and to have a Sealing specialty of at least the level of the seal. After being used on a shinobi, these seals become a permanent item on them (and can have either positive effects, negative effects, or both). They may only be removed by a shinobi with the Sealing specialty of at least the level of the seal, and in order to do so requires 1 full post of concentration. Body Seals use the miscellaneous item template.

Pets
When you take the Pātonājutsu Specialty, you receive a pet of your choosing. This pet is applied for like an item (see the template below) and once approved is added to your inventory. Pets have stats, specialties, elements, jutsus, and items like normal shinobi do, and must be trained just the same. Pets start with 500 skill points and 2 Focuses (1 Specialty and 1 Element). The Specialty cannot be one that your own ninja doesn't have, however the Element can be. The pet also receive san additional focus upon reaching Jounin rank. Once Pātonājutsu is taken, all training threads will give you two sets of skill points (one for your shinobi and one for your pet(s)). Pets get 1 Skill Point for every 30 words if you have only one pet. If you have two pets they get 1 Skill Point for every 20 words. If you have three then it's 1 Skill Point for every 10. Skill points for your pet cannot be used on your shinobi and vice versa. Additionally, all of your pets attributes are limited by your Pātonājutsu specialty. They cannot increase any of their specialties/elements beyond your Pātonājutsu level, and cannot train their stats beyond your Pātonājutsu level divided by 2 (they also cannot increase their stats with abilities beyond your Pātonājutsu level). Like normal shinobi, the amount of chakra a pet has is based on its rank and pets automatically rank up by spending skill points. If a pet should ever be killed in combat, your Pātonājutsu level is automatically reset to 0 and (if it was your only pet) you will receive another starting pet.

Genin: Default. 500 Skill Points. 250 Chakra.
Chuunin: 1000 Skill Points. 500 Chakra.
Tokujou: 1750 Skill Points. 750 Chakra.
Jounin: 2500 Skill Points. 1000 Chakra.
Sannin: 3500 Skill Points. 1500 Chakra.

Summoning Contracts
Before they can be called, summons require the user to sign a summoning contract. These contracts are signed in the user's blood and bind them for life with their summons. When you take the Kuchiyose specialty, you will receive your first summoning contract for free. Every one after that will cost 400 skill points. When you sign a summoning contract, it is added to your Ninja Info Card permanently and you can apply for summoning jutsus for that particular contract. The template below is for applying for a summoning contract. Note that Master contracts can enter Sage Form (see Specialty Rules). Ninja who have mastered Kuchiyose (reached level 1000) may receive Mastery of a summoning contract for 400 skill points.

Name: Name of contract
Species: Species of animal this contract summons
Sage Form: Describe the appearance of this contract's Sage Form as well as a level 1000 ability for it. If you wish to fill this out later when you receive Mastery of this contract, write "Unknown".
Members: This field is initially empty and becomes filled as you apply for individual summons

Template:

Summons
The members of a summoning contract are applied for separately as jutsu. They cost their level to summon and the user may pay any excess of chakra when performing the summon to give to the summoned creature as their chakra pool. Note that summons can also own items, but these must be bought separately as normal items. When a summon takes cumulative damage from jutsu equal to its own level, or damage from basic strikes equal to twice its level, it will disappear and cannot be summoned again for the rest of the thread. For example if a level 1000 summon is hit by a level 1000 jutsu, or if a level 250 summon is hit with two level 250 basic strikes, they will both disappear. Additionally, any fatal amount of damage will cause the summon to disperse. Summons over level 1000 can only be summoned while the user is in the Sage Mode of the summon's contract.

Name: Name of summon
Level: Level of summon, divisible by 10
Species: Species of summon
Appearance: What the summon looks like, be sure to mention the size
Type: Summons can have 1 of three types: Combat, Support, or Pack
Stats: Summons receive Skill points to spend on stats depending on what type they are. Combat summons receive 4 times their level in Skill Points. Support summons receive 3 times their level in Skill Points. Pack summons receive Skill Points based on a their species, quantity, and level, and are therefore given Skill Points on a case-by-case basis . As normal, stats cost 2 Skill Points per level and cannot be higher than 500 without effects. Note that no summon can have any of their stats be higher than the user's Kuchiyose level divided by 2 (without effects). If the summon is over level 1000, its stats can be up to level 750 without effects.
Strength: Endurance: Speed: Perception: Stealth:
Focus: Combat and Pack summons may have 1 focus which is automatically equal to the level of the summon. Support summons may have 2 (1 Element and 1 Specialty). Summons cannot have focuses that their summoner does not have.
Jutsus: Any summon is capable of using jutsu. Summons can be taught jutsus which are applied for/trained as normal. Support summons start with up to 2 jutsus (the cumulative level of these 2 jutsus cannot be higher than the level of the summon).
Quantity: Pack summons are summoned in groups unlike the other two types. These summons are usually weaker than the other two however serve their purpose in numbers. Support and Combat summons simply put "1" here.
